PROPOSAL 1      

Proposal: I propose to organise a Game Fest in Kshitij 2019.

Objective:

With each passing year we introduce new genres in the events in Kshitij, to go hand in hand with the latest technological developments in India and all over the world. Game Fest would play a significant role in increasing the participation of Kshitij by various folds. It would attract a huge no of gamers towards the fest.

Structure:

  • There will be games of CS GO, FIFA, DOTA, NFS(2016).
  • There will be an online event in December. Selected participants from that online event will take part in the final round held during the fest.
  • For CS GO and DOTA, top 16 teams from the online round will be selected to take part in the final round to be held at IIT Kharagpur.
  • The detailed structures for each game are as follows:

    DOTA

  • Teams would consist of 5 members each.
  • Captain’s draft mode only (ban time and pick time as described in latest map).
  • Latest version and map, available, will be played.
  • A game is finished, when an Ancient Fortress is destroyed, when one team obviously forfeits, when the majority of a team leaves on purpose, or when the administration decides on it.
  • Registration has to be done 1 month prior to the fest for all the teams.
  • Preliminary round:

  • Online link will be provided where teams will be randomly put to pace against each other based on rankings (rating out of 5) and K/D/A ratio.
  • This process will continue until only 20 teams are left.
  • Preliminary Group Stage:

  • Selected teams will play matches either in BO1 or BO3 against each other 1 week prior to the main event against either 2 or 1 team depending on their rank (rating out of 5.0), win rate and K/D/A ratio.
  • According to their rank in group stage, they will be put in 2 pools of 10 teams each, namely Winners bracket and Losers bracket.
  • Main Event:

  • Matches in Winner’s bracket and Loser’s bracket will be a direct knockout match either in BO1 or
  • BO3 depending on the time constraint.
  • Any team in Losers bracket after losing a match (ie, 0-1/1- 2/0-2) will be knocked out directly.
  • Losing teams from Winners bracket will be joining Losers bracket and the same procedure will be followed as described above.
  • Process will be continued until there are two teams from Winners bracket and one winner from Losers bracket (half finals).
  • The runner up of the Winners bracket will vie against winner of Losers bracket for a place in the Grand Finale where they will meet winner of Winners bracket.
  • The Grand Finale will be either a BO3 or a BO5.
  • CS GO

  • Team Size-5
  • Registration has to be done 1 month prior to the fest for all the teams.
  • Preliminary round:

  • Online link will be provided where teams will be randomly put to pace against each other.
  • One of the following maps will be chosen in random: Inferno, Dust 2, Trains, Nuke, Lakeside, Mirage, Cobblestone, Overpass, Office, Cache.
  • This process will continue until only 20 teams are left.
  • Preliminary Group Stage:

  • Selected teams will play matches either in BO1 or BO3 against each other 1 week prior to the main event against either 2 or 1 team depending on their rank (rating out of 5.0), win rate and K/D/A ratio.
  • According to their rank in group stage, they will be put in 2 pools of 10 teams each, namely Winners bracket and Losers bracket.

  • 1 Vs 1 matches
  • Registrations to be done a month, prior to the fest.
  • The whole tournament will be played online Elimination Round:
  • A team is eliminated if he/she loses a match.
  • Match Half time will be 10 minutes each till 16 teams are left.
  • Match Half time will be 15 minutes for the remaining 16 teams.
  • Substitution allowed only during half time and 75th minute of the match.
  • If match is tied, winner will be decided by classic followed by the penalties.
  • It’s up to the teams to decide the team they want to play with under the given version (Mostly FIFA 17/18). NFS (2016)
  • Car Settings: All 32 cars are available.
  • Minimum amount of mod customization for cars will be available.
  • Registration to be done 1 month prior to the fest.
  • The whole tournament will be played online.
  • Elimination Round:
  • All the online races will be a 3 lap Circuit race (track will be pre-decided) to be played by 4 players at a time.
  • The players finishing first will qualify for the race.
  • This will be the format until top 128 players are remaining.
  • Elimination Round:
  • Elimination round between 128 top ranked players to decide the winner.
  • Winner and first runner up of every race during elimination round will move on to next level.
  • Final race will be held between winner and first runner up of two races to be played by top 8 players.
  • Exhibition Round

  • The winners of DOTA 2 and CS GO will be competing to a top E-Sports team of both the games.
  • The team will be invited by Kshitij, IIT Kharagpur.
  • Budget:

    3rd- INR 20,000

  • Prize Money:

  • Prize Money:
    1st- INR 20,000
    2nd- INR 12,000
    3rd- INR 8,000

  • NFS
  • Prize Money:
    1st- INR 20,000
    2nd- INR 12,000
    3rd- INR 8,000

  • Lan Port: 3*2=INR 6,000
  • Snacks for judges: 600*2*2=INR 240
  • AV Cell: 4*12*2*200=INR 19200

  • Total budget: INR 3,07,600

    Ground Work:

    Many companies like Nazara Games, Asus, HP, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Ubisoft normally do sponsorship for such gaming events of college fests. I have contacted some of the companies already. Among them, Nazara Games, Western Digital and Asus are also eager to sponsor the Game Fest.




    PROPOSAL 2      

    Proposal: ​I propose to associate Kshitij with some foreign universities through International Relations Cell to bring exhibitions and guest lectures from those foreign universities.

    Objective:

    International Relations Cell is already in association with some of the foreign universities. Through the help of International Relations Cell, Kshitij will be associated with those universities to bring exhibitions on recent research works going on in those universities. We can also bring guest lecture of eminent professors of those universities. This will increase the bonding with these countries and also we will get to know about the educational and technological culture of those universities.

    Structure:

    The International Relations Cell of IIT Kharagpur is already associated with some foreign universities like

  • Ground Work:

    I have contacted with Mr Shubham Srivastava who is the General Secretary at International Relations Cell, IIT Kharagpur to discuss about the feasibility of the proposal. If we devote enough time and dedication for this, we can easily get enough funding to execute this proposal in reality.

    PROPOSAL 3      

    Proposal:I propose to introduce a new event on Blockchain in Technology General Championship.

    Objectives:

    Blockchain is one of the most popular and modern topics of cutting edge technology. The Blockchain technology has the potential to create a positive impact in the quality of our lives. Introducing a new event on Blockchain will motivate the culture of Blockchain in IIT Kharagpur.

    Structure:

  • There will be a report submission round and a presentation round for the event.
  • The problem statement will be released at least 10 days before the day of report submission.
  • The participants have to submit their report on the given problem statement.
  • After report submission the participants have to give a presentation on that for maximum of 15 minutes. The last 3 minutes of the presentation will be to answer the questions from the judges.
  • Participants have to show working demonstration in their presentations.
  • Judging will be done on the basis of both the report and the presentation.
  • Different companies can be contacted for judges. Otherwise professors from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of IIT Kharagpur who are working on Blockchain Technology can be invited to judge the event.
  • Ground Work:

    Many companies like Primechain Technologies, Sofocle Technologies, IBM, Coinsecure are working on Blockchain now-a- days. We would contact those companies to provide problem statement on Blockchain, solution of which will be beneficial for the companies also.
